This course will cover all topics and more from the Washington State Beekeepers Association (WASBA) Beginning Beekeepers course. The course will take place over 3 evenings from 5:30 PM to 8:00 PM Tuesday through Thursday and will be filled with practical knowledge geared at getting you started as a successful beekeeper in Washington state and prepare you for the WASBA Apprentice Course.

- Beehives
- Clothing, Tools & Location
- Honeybee Taxonomy
- Feed
- Installing a package of honeybees
- Monitoring the hive
Part 2:
- Swarms & Splits
- The Honey Flow
- Honey Stores
- Preparing for Overwintering
- Pests, Predators & Diseases
- Successful Overwintering
Class tuition will include:
- WASBA Beginning Beekeeping Course Book (Digital & Hardcopy).
- 2 Certification attempts.
- WASBA 1-year membership.
- 1-year membership to the local beekeeping club of your choice.
Cost: $100 per person
Seats: 12 per course
Course Time: Approx. 10-12 Hours (3 x 3hr Sessions including 15-minute breaks)

We will send out meeting details in advance and mail all materials directly to the course participants so that they can interact with the course remotely.
*Disclaimer – There is a 48-hour cancellation policy in effect for all classes. No refunds will be issued if you must cancel within this time period. If the Snohomish Bee Company must cancel a class, we will fully refund the cost of the class. Our classes are held in a classroom that requires climbing a flight of stairs. Please let us know in advance if you require special assistance.
