With the summer quickly winding down, we need to start getting our soon to emerge winter honeybees ready to survive the unique conditions that we face in the Pacific Northwest from November to March. A recent study found that by working to severly reduce mite populations by mid August, beekeepers are able to tips the scales in their honeybees favor for winter survivablity. (Mattila, H.R., J.L. Harris, & G.W. Otis, 2001. Timing of production of winter bees in honey bee (Apis mellifera) colonies. Insectes Sociaux 48: 88-93.)

To best treat the mite populations we carry these in store only.
